Filling Method Comparison: Weighing, Piston, Vacuum And Flow Meter
Four filling principles, and when each one is the right answer.
Multi-head weighing filler — self-flowing weighing with METTLER load cells, ±0.5%. Best for drums, large containers and corrosive products where volume cannot be trusted.
Servo piston filler — the workhorse for small and medium bottles, including products with particles. ±1% and fast changeover.
Vacuum (negative pressure) filling — for low-viscosity, volatile products such as perfume and alcohol. ±0.5–1%, with low foaming.
Diaphragm flow meter filling — for free-flowing chemical liquids. The fill volume is changed by parameter, not by mechanical parts.
Beyond these four, gear pump, magnetic pump and ceramic pump systems cover corrosive, high-viscosity and contamination-sensitive products.
